Health & Safety

  • You must complete a Client Information and PARQ form at least 24 hours prior to your first class starting, to minimise contact and to risk assess any additional needs you may have.
  • You must gain clearance to exercise in a pool environment from your lead pregnancy healthcare provider (midwife, doctor, consultant etc) prior to your first class. You must regain this clearance for each new arising health condition (if any) and update Lotus Aqua accordingly.


         Reasons to stop exercise and consult your Health Care Provider:

  • Excessive shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Uterine contractions
  • Abdominal pain, in back or pubic area
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Any "gush" of fluid from the vagina
  • Dizziness or faintness
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Excessive fatigue
  • Calf pain or swelling
  • Reduced foetal movement
  • Headache
  • Muscle weakness
  • Cramps


         SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

  • Avoid exercise in warm/humid conditions, especially during the 1st trimester
  • Avoid isometric exercise or straining whilst holding your breath
  • Maintain adequate nutrition and hydration - drink water before and after exercise
  • Avoid exercise whilst lying on your back past the 4th month of pregnancy
  • Avoid activities which involve physical contact or danger of falling
  • Know your limits - pregnancy is not the time to push yourself!
  • Know the reasons to stop exercise and consult a qualified health care provider immediately if they occur.


COVID-19

If you or someone in your household or your support bubble are showing coronavirus symptoms, you must not attend classes, self isolate and get tested in line with the current government and NHS guidelines.


The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal


  • Your teacher, Hayley Edwards, will act as Covid Officer for the business.
  • Changing rooms and ‘touch points,’ are cleaned between use by pool management.
  • Toilets are on an ‘urgent needs’ basis only. Please do not use the toilet in the ‘Assisted changing room,’ as this is an allocated changing station.
  • Hand sanitizers are in the pool building, including at the entrance and on poolside.
  • Please do not shake towels and clothing in the changing areas to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
  • In the event that first aid is delivered, the teacher will wear full PPE.


        COVID-19 PROCEDURES

  • Arrive 10 minutes before your lesson start time and queue at the door to the pool building, ensuring you are maintaining social distance.
  • A face covering must be worn in the communal areas and changing rooms unless you are exempt from wearing one. Please only remove when you are ready to walk into the pool room.
  • Use the hand sanitizer upon entry into the pool building.
  • Remove shoes upon entry to the changing rooms and place in your bags or the show rack provided. Shoes must not be worn in the changing room areas.
  • Make your way to your allocated changing station. This will not change throughout the block of classes.
  • You must socially distance (2m apart) within the swimming pool and wait by an allocated station until class begins.
  • Please shower at home after class.
  • Each class must leave the building within 10 MINUTES of the class finishing.





GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Easy to change clothing and shoes are recommended, such as onesies, pyjamas, loose dresses, flip flops/crocs etc to reduce changing time
  • There are plenty of car park spaces available in the school car park.
  • Remember to bring plenty of drinking water and a hat to wear home in the cooler months – there is no hairdryer
  • No spectators are permitted in the pool building.
  • Everyone is to sanitise their hands when entering and exiting the pool building.
  • No shoes are to be worn in the changing rooms or poolside.
  • No talcum powder to be used in the changing rooms.

 

        REFUNDS

  • Classes are non refundable or transferrable unless cancelled by Lotus Aqua.

 

        LOST AND STOLEN ITEMS

  • Meadgate Pool and Lotus Aqua cannot accept liability for items lost or stolen whilst on the premises. Please leave valuables at home.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

  • Lotus Aqua takes the protection of your data seriously.
  • Lotu Aqua only collects enough information for the purpose and needs of the business and at no time with your data be shared with external third parties, without your prior consent, unless there is a health and safety emergency.
  • All your data is stored in a password secure laptop and/or storage clouds.
  • Invoices will be stored electronically in accordance with HMRC accounting requirements and destroyed after 6 years.
  • All other personal data will be stored for insurance purposes and destroyed 12 months after your last class with Lotus       Aqua.
  •  Your contact details will not be used for marketing purposes.
